Waterfront Park now pouring drinks

Do you think serving adult beverages on the pier is a good thing or a bad thing for the patrons and fishermen and residents? It surely is a big change from whence it started.
I don't see too much wrong with an adult having a drink while he fishes or swings with his partner on a swing,or just relaxes overlooking the Charleston harbor. However, as we all know things can sometimes lead to extremes. If the park becomes a hangout for drunks or heavy drinkers looking to drink in public, well it will have lost it's family atmosphere and with it a chance for kids to enjoy peace,quiet and playful family time. hopefully they can strike a balance, usually there are patrol officers at the park most of the time to prevent any trouble so i guess we shall see. What do you think about the ploicy change?
